Banana Leaf Restaurant in Cebu Philippines

It’s been a while that I’ve wanted to dine at the Banana Leaf.  We checked out their menu last Christmas, and I was ecstatic to find out that they also have roti there.  So I said to myself that I’ll try this Thai Restaurant in Cebu and indulge in those roti (hopefully similar to Spice Fusion).

Fast forward to April 2009, and we finally got the chance to dine at the Banana Leaf. It wasn’t my craving for a roti that got us there but for the reason that Casa Verde and Sunburst were already full. Al Fresco dining at HIGH noon is not an option! Read More »

Bigby's Restaurant in Cebu Philippines

If you’re following this blog religiously, you may have noticed that in almost every food and restaurant review we make, there’s a backstory behind why we choose to dine at a certain place.

Dinner at Bigby’s Cafe and Restaurant at the Terraces Ayala Cebu was no different.  It had a backstory all right but it’s as shallow as Bigby’s serving bottomless ice tea unlike Sunburst.  But don’t get me wrong, that’s not the only thing Bigby’s has to offer.

Stick around to know what I love about Bigby’s Cafe and Restaurant.

Restaurant in Cebu Philippines: Flavours of China

It has been a while since I dined in SM City Cebu because I always find myself roaming around the Terraces Ayala Cebu.

My family had a wonderful dining experience the first time they tried the Flavours of China at the Northwing so I thought I’d try it as well.  My only apprehension was that (if I’m not mistaken) they have the same owner as Tempura Japanese Grill, and they may have the same policy regarding taking of food pictures.

Read on and join me as I taste the Flavours of China (and find out if there was any bloodshed!).

I almost had a Bruce Banner moment, not with rage, but with envy after hearing my boss talk about the wonderful dining experience he had in Cafe Marco at the Marco Polo Hotel.

I was with my friends Fedge and Marlon one lazy Sunday last November in Olango Island… you know, the one with the much ballyhooed bird sanctuary. I had a very unforgettable experience man gud back in college when my class went there for a field trip… it was surreal but nice lol… that’s why I wanted to go back. Unfortunately for us, when we went there last November, there were not that many birds in sight. There were more fingers in both my hands than there were birds. A disappointment, I know. But that didn’t stop us from shooting away… with our cams, of course.

Da Vinci's Pizza Restaurant in Cebu Philippines

It was a Sunday night and a spur of the moment thing when my family decided that we go out for a pizza.  The only pizza places I know close to our residence are MB’s Tavern, JCA Gourmet Pizza, and Da Vinci’s Pizza.

I was not “feeling it” to go to the first two pizza restaurants mentioned and I was kinda craving for some Da Vinci’s Pizza because it has been a while since I had one.  The much raved about Shawarma Pizza at Da Vinci’s was also worth investigating.

Filipino Restaurant in Cebu - Sugbo Silog

Looking for a breakfast place in downtown Colon was difficult.

Pakalista Jon and I were done taking some photographs at the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño for the Sinulog and were looking for a non-fastfood (no offense Jollibee and McDonalds) and non-carenderia (not safe for our cams) type of place where we can eat breakfast and have some of those sunny-side up fried egg.

Mango Avenue would have been the location to look for such kind of Cebu restaurant but I didn’t want to go there because I didn’t want to get myself stuck in traffic when going to work afterwards.

We went to CDU in Mandaue reclamation area instead to have Filipino food at Sugbo Silog.
